THE EFFECTS OF FIGHTING THE ELDERLY.

Long ago when I was still young, I had a cousin who was older than me and he was the age of being married. His parents had passed away when he was still young because they migrated to Toro and by then it is said that there were man eaters in that area so they were eaten alive.

He grew up with my late grand parents. I believe he lacked good counsel because at some point he started drinking and would come back home drank throwing tuntruns. Maybe he had lost hope for life, maybe he felt misunderstood or didn’t know the purpose of life anymore.

By then I was around 5 years. When he wasn’t drunk, he looked fine and we could easily hung around him as children but at night when he was drunk, he became a monster.

He always gave my grandma a hard time cos my grandpa was too old but my grandmother could still move flexibly so one day this cousin came and started threatening to kill my grandparents.

My dad and uncles intervened and the neighbours because we lived in a communal setting.

He went to a garden of Irish and started uprooting them and he was speaking so many cursing words that my grandmother had to reply him and words of an elder are more powerful. He was angry saying that the land where the I Irish was is his inheritance yet it was for my grandparents and he could have requested them without violence.

The next day, the people brought police and he was arrested. My grandmother started walking everyday to court because cars never used to reach in our are and she would go to plead the case which she won but still continued taking care of him.

Later when he was released, he didn’t disturb as before but on many occasions he would provoke my late grandma to anger and she would reply back with tough words.

I was young but at some point I could begg her not to reply him because he is drank.

My grandmother was a staunch Catholic and most of her time she would be praying with her rosary.

She would pray around 3 times a day and she taught me to pray because every time my parents saw me Idle, they would tell me to go to her so that she can teach me prayers. Their hope was that I would become a reverand Father in future.

She was my best friend. And for my cousin, he left and went to look for work in other districts where matoke is grown and alcohol was produced in that area. He was now at the source and the devil had properly set him up for disaster upon his life.

He was dared by his friends one day to drink a 5 litter jerrican of alcohol and when he did, I don’t think that he even finished it, he died and for me concerning that terrible death I know that it was because of the curses he got himself.

He didn’t live long but died before my late grandma unmarried.

My other grandma whom he had worked for before he got spoilt, in his early years, he was a very good generous boy from what she says about him, handsome with a promising future.

But the campany he chose was as indeed bad campany corrupts good morals. He ended badly yet he had started well.

If there were evangelists leading people to Jesus and maybe met him and shared with him the gospel, maybe he could still be alive.

He died without receiving Jesus because he didn’t receive the gospel. There are many people perishing because for you who knows God and His word, you’re not preaching maybe fearing rejection.

Just do it afraid in case you’re scared, reach out to the drankards, the sexually immoral, drug addicts and many others don’t fear to save people from hell.

Let’s finish well not alone but with others.🥳
