5 Workouts To Try While Being On Lockdown

I am sure we have all seen these memes of people or animals where two photos have been placed together- one fit and the other with quite some kilos added, and of course the label “before quarantine and after quarantine”. We can all laugh about it, but the reality is, does anyone actually want to come out of quarantine with some extra kilos? The world obviously has some bigger issues to deal with currently, but if you are made to be at home, you are healthy and got some extra time, why not put it to good use?

Ultimately, I have always been a big sports lover, whether it was tennis, volleyball, basketball or rowing- I just couldn’t stay away from an opportunity to lose some energy and gain this great feeling of having worked out. After trying many different workouts and youtube channels to fill the void of not being able to do my regular workout routines, I found these ones listed to be the most helpful for me. They are bodyweight workouts that bring me good emotions, get some sweat going and hopefully will help you as well to spend all that energy you might have otherwise spent outside.

Soooo…POPSUGAR Fitness has over 3,4 million subscribers in YouTube so I have no doubt that many of you already know it and have tried their workouts, but I guess it doesn’t hurt for me to give my recommendations and see if it brings you as much positive energy as it did for me. Most of their workouts are around 30-minutes which makes them quick, effective and in some cases I even try to get two different ones done in a day to feel extra proud. Here are some of my favorites:

Tabata is high-intensity interval training (HIIT) consisting of working out for 20 seconds and resting for 10 seconds. And then each exercise for 8 rounds. In the different Tabata workouts I have tried, the trainer always says “you can do anything for 20 seconds”- and so far that has shown to be true. The time passes by quickly and oooh boy how the calories burn. Here are a few of my favorite Tabata workouts I have tried:

As I have gone through youtube many times typing in “30-minute yoga”, “body balance classes”, “after workout stretch” I have discovered that the selection is HUGE. You can find classes from any length to any level of fitness and of course for different parts of your body.

Perhaps why this was last mentioned is that I found it just 2 days ago and haven’t been able to build this deep long-lasting relationship just yet. But let me tell you something- it’s coming. So far the workouts I have done have been amazing. High energy, good quality and most importantly they have tons of different workout options you can choose from. I can already feel this one becoming to be my new favorite.
