When you first start a new project, you’re excited, and there’s a more pure form of energy in everything you do.

You’re driven by potential, and every small step that you take drives you onwards.

The best word to describe it, more often than not, is passion.

In most instances, though, the passion fades over time as the reality of what’s in front of you becomes more apparent.

The hard work and effort required to get your desired outcome eventually dawn on you, and everything starts to become just that tiny bit more difficult to achieve.

And this is, without question, the hardest moment for people.

At this point, you can quit and move on to their next dopamine hit, or you can knuckle down and prepare for the long road ahead.

Most people quit.

People post about something they’re doing and how they’re “going all in.” They make videos telling everyone their “next big thing” is coming soon, and they write long tweet threads bearing their soul in preparation for the journey they are about to embark on.

Then the excitement wears off.
