Diving watches by Time Locker

Time Locker Weekly Update — 5th-11th November 2018

Time Locker is a French micro brand created for the gentleman adventurer. Our first three watches are inspired by a legendary diving watch worn by the French combat divers (Marine Nationale) during the 50's.

To help us transform this project into reality, we will launch our automatic dive watches thanks to a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

We are publishing here our behind-the-scenes, to give you a sneak peek at our work.

Production
Leather strap: I decided to add three additional leather colours to our leather straps collection.

Each Time Locker dive watch will come with a chocolate coloured leather strap made with Italian vegetable tanned leather. The leather I have selected has a beautiful grain finishing which gives a vintage feeling to the strap.

For the strap design, I followed the pattern of old leather straps used by divers during the 40’s to 50’s era.

To give more design options, I have selected three additional leather colours:
- Navy
- Black
- Brown
Like for the chocolate leather strap, these three new strap options are made with Italian vegetable tanned leather.

Packaging: I have selected and approved the packaging of the watches. Each watch will come with a travel pouch.

Over the years, I have seen all types of packaging for watch microbrands. From a simple carton sleeve (not strong and durable) to a wood box (not practical when you want to safely pack your watch while traveling).

A travel pouch is for me the handiest way to pack the Time Locker watches. Thanks to this packaging, your diving watch will be safely packed whenever you do not wish to wear your wristwatch.

As a reminder, our watches are powered by the automatic movement Seiko NH35A. Like with any automatic timepieces, it is recommended to wear a few hours per day your wristwatch to maintain its movement function properly.
