When Bipolar takes over

If I knew what life had waiting for me just around the corner, I’’m pretty sure that I would have done something silly long ago. Maybe death would have succeeded in one of its attempts. I just turned…

Is recognition more necessary or experience?

I have been learning and designing creatives since the last 3 years. Everytime I chose to open Photoshop, Illustrator or XD, it has given me something new to learn.Literally, Everytime. In these past 3 years I have come across various projects, majority of which belong to the sport management niche, but I have also had a keen hand in various different marketing projects. The effort that was given to each projects differs massively on the basis of the handout I receive, the audience to be catered, the content I'm provided with and most importantly my Mood!

The place where I belong, has no awareness whatsoever related to this field of work, it's completely alien to most or all of them and I am pretty much the only person to pursue this, well that alone makes me the best in my area doesn't it? Well to be honest its both a blessing and a disgrace. Blessing, because I have a great chance to reach out to the businesses here and get hold of their projects like a mini monopoly and disgrace because I have not been handed many yet which I owe it to the lack of awareness.

So why wasn't I handed any projects even after an experience of 3 years in this field? I must admit before I proceed, that I may not be the best but I am pretty much the only person practising in this field, there's absolutely no one to compare me with in my town.

So the point of me blabbering all this is, my 3 year experience of working with MNCs or elite companies didn't work, that alone doesn't fetch you the clients you need but a small recognition played the trick. One of my recent posters went gaga over the internet and set it on fire. To my surprise, I was approached by many small businesses in the town enquiring if I'd be interested to work for them. They absolutely had no idea that there was a person in this town who could handle these projects. And sooner the clients started to flow as other people in the neighborhood started knowing about the boy next door who does graphic designing. So it boils down to this again, Is recognition more necessary or experience? And does recognition take overnight?

No. It takes a ounce of luck, a dollar of commitment and maybe a million of self-interest or indulgence to deserve that. And yes, if you’re God’s favourite, your one stroke of edit would change the world next morning. Never let the hustle down. Well you may not believe in magic but for once believe in your power and maybe it’ll change your thought about magic someday when everything starts falling in place, may be that day you will have a laugh and a toast to the fact that you didn’t give up back then!
