19 lessons of 2020

Year 2020 was an interesting year for everyone and a bad year for many. Irrespective of the circumstances associated with the COVID-19 pandemic-lockdown-downturn-deaths, here are 19 nuggets I noted along the way.

Consider these from the perspective of an entrepreneur, and apply as you see fit. Heres to hoping 2021 becomes a better year for most of us, I might eventually make videos out of each lessons listed below.

1. Run from people who get vindictive when they don’t get their way.

2. Run from people who are quick to throw others under the bus

3. Lead or be led, you can’t sit on the fence about it. If you don’t want to lead, get out of the way or follow the leader.

4. Not making a decision is a decision. You are responsible for all decisions. Run from people who don’t want to be responsible for their indecisions.

5. Making progress and showing progress are perceived differently. Choose the later.

6. Your thoughts influence your confidence, which influences the quality of your life.

7. Everything is negotiable

8. See all negotiations as an exchange of value — transaction.

9. See all relationships as transactions until proven otherwise.

10. Always have leverage or find one. The more leverage you have, the better.

11. If money making is the goal, Listening to the market is more important than chasing your passion.

12. You are what you think, what you say determines your experiences.

13. You are what you do consistently, and you have the power to change it.

14. Everyday, work like miracles don’t exist. But, miracles still happen, and science will eventually explain it, someday.

15. Do your best to stay healthy. Make healthy choices.

16. Learn to map skills to market value. There is a world out there of micro-creators leveraging skills for profit.

17. What isn’t obvious to many, is an opportunity disguised. Stop trying to convince, start executing.

18. Make room for failure, learn from mistakes, forgive yourself and others.

19. Live like you can lose everything, you can start afresh, and you can gain everything.

Whats your take out from the year 2020?
